Laughable Answers I Have Received
To My Legitimate Email Questions
by Bob Stanley
With a few laughable
remarks thrown in...
Q. Why don't you believe Jesus
in Matthew 26:26, when He said
"This IS My Body?"
A. From an SDA:
"Because His body would be used up in no time if it really
were."
Never mind the fact that Jesus Christ is GOD and is unlimited
in all ways. Also, obviously this person had never heard
that Jesus had fed 5000 people with only 5 loaves of bread and
2 fishes, and there were still leftovers after all were satisfied.
Mark 6:34-44
For those who believe
in the True Presence only at the Last Supper, and not ever since:
Q. Since
in John 6, Jesus spoke to His Disciples as well as the crowd of
Jews, as shown in John 6:25,41,52, why then do you say it was
only His true presence that one time? How can you ignore
the fact that He spoke to all of us in John 6:42-66? Only His
disciples were at the Last Supper, and no one else. Does
that mean all the rest of us are excluded in John 6? How can you
not see yourself in John 6:66 as not believing His words
and walking away from Him?
A. He
was only speaking to the Jews, and it was they who walked away, not
us.
Okay, then I am forced to believe that we are excluded when
any group is addressed in the Bible, so 90% + of Scripture does
not even apply to us since we were not the Jews or their predecessors,
the Hebrews, who were the ones being addressed. This brings up
an interesting question. Since GOD gave the 10 Commandments to
Moses, and the Hebrews, then we do not have to abide by them right?
Q. Why don't you call the Mother
of GOD 'Blessed' as stated in Luke 1:48, "All generations
shall call me Blessed?"
A. From an SDA:
"Because 'will' means it will happen sometime in the future."
I
am
forced to concede that this person does not see himself as part
of "All Generations." What about all the generations
of SDA's who have passed away? Did not this verse apply to
them also? When does the 'future' arrive?
Mormon:
Q. How
do you equate the introduction to the Book of Mormon where it says,
"The Book of Mormon is Comparable to the Bible...and contains
as does the Bible, the fulness of the everlating Gospel",
and, it is "The most correct book on earth", with
Galatians 1:8-9? "If anyone preach a Gospel to you other
than that which you have received, let him be anathema."
A. From a Mormon:
"It is the same Gospel."
Hmmm,
never mind that Galatians was written in the first century and
the Book of Mormon wasn't written until the 19th century. Same
Gospel?
The most idiotic remark I have ever received by
email...
From an SDA:
"You
are brainwashed by Catholic literature. If you want to know the
truth of what the Catholic Church teaches, you have to go outside
of the Catholic Church such as SDA, or this list of books to read."
Every
author of those books was a known heretic and hater of the Catholic
Church. Now I am so sure I will find the 'truth' of the Catholic
Church in SDA literature...right? If you believe that, then I
have a bridge to sell you.
